Long exposure bridge

Wow - almost a month since my last post - many apologies.

I had a crazy week where I photographed three weddings around a holiday and then had four days to process all the shots before heading to France for over a week!

Anyway - I've not got a few shots to share and will start with this one:

I wanted to get a thin depth of field but also blur the water with a long exposure. To achieve this I stacked a Lee 'Big Stopper' with my friend Bob's Lee 6-stop Neutral Density to allow a 30 second exposure at f/2.

Below is a shot of me taking the shot, kindly provided by Bob! You can visit his website here: http://www.boblatham-photography.net/
(The Infrared galleries include some shots of the same location)

The hands and the Voigtlander 40mm f/2 SL-II

Thanks to Bob Latham for lending me the Voigtlander 40mm f/2 SL-II Ultron lens!

The lens is a fascinating and beautifully made manual focus lens. As you can see from this shot it is sharp wide open and bests (to my eyes) Canon's f/2.8 40mm pancake which itself is a decent lens.

Not sure what I think about the bokeh (out of focus areas) yet, but I'll continue to play!

The shot was taken handheld using zoomed live view and processed in Color Efex Pro.

Geoff goes for a walk with an infrared fish!

I decided a surreal shot like this needed a surreal name!

This shot was taken on the 8-15mm fisheye zoom which was attached to Bob's IR modified 450D. I took three AEB (Auto exposure bracketed) shots and combined them in Photomatix. I bled the colour out of Geoff and added some clarity to him for extra 'pop'.

Finally I used a hue adjustment in Lightroom to give a little more blue to the image.

Autumn Leaves & Guest Photo - Fire Dancer

Took this on the fisheye I'm testing. The straight shot looked ok, but I wanted to take the gloss of the colours so I processed it as a single image tone map in Photomatix and then added a slight vignette in Lightroom.

This is a shot taken by my good friend Bob Latham. Please see his website here: http://www.boblatham-photography.net/

This was taken with the new 1DX and the fabulous Canon 200mm f/2 (I'm going a shade of green now!).

This shot shows the amazing low-light capabilities of the 1DX - ISO is 12800!

Composition - wise I love the diagonal line created through the frame by the performer's arms.

Thanks for letting me post the shot, Bob!
