Grounded boat

I used a 100mm f/2.0 lens wide open here to limit the depth of field and try and give the photo some depth. I also added a vignette.

Long exposure boat

Hi all. Just got back from a trip to the Scilly Isles. I took around 650 shots in the week, so plenty of blog fodder for the next week or so!

This was using an ND filter and very low ISO (50) to allow a long exposure which has softened the water and helped to mist the clouds a little.

Ship leaving the Tyne

Shot at dusk - I really liked the muted colours here.

Souter Lighthouse HDR

I think I might be finally getting the hang of this HDR lark!

This was a series of 5 shots merged in Photomatix. 12mm lens @ f/11 on a 1DsMKII.

South Shields Coast

I visited South Shields yesterday and took this shot near Souter Lighthouse.

To get the unusual perspective I went in close with a 12mm (very wide angle) lens. The shot was an HDR merge of three exposures, each taken on a 1DsII @ f/11. I used continuous shooting to ensure there was minimal cloud movement between the exposures.
