Fortuitous Candid!

I was pleased with how this #photo came off. Candid's can be tricky. This is especially the case for this shot as I had my camera at waist level and used a wide aperture / servo focussing. I had the camera down there to get natural looks on people's faces rather than them staring at the camera.

I pointed the camera in the direction of this man engrossed in his phone and only realised the kissing couple in the background when I downloaded the shot to the computer!

Canon EOS-1D Mark III, f/1.4 @ 35 mm, 1/1600, ISO 400

  1. I like the contrast of the guy alone but for his phone and the togetherness of the young couple. However, my eye was being drawn to the toppling column and I had to upload the image and straighten it to stop it being the focal point in my mind.
Still enjoying your daily offerings though.

  2. Thanks, Bob! How did you straighten the rear column? Did you rotate the whole shot or transform the background only?
