Window Light Lingerie
Lit purely by window light and almost straight out of camera. Just did a few bits in Lightroom, mostly using a graduated exposure filter to lighten the left hand side.

Jack Broadbent on the slide guitar
Saw the very talented Jack Broadbent performing on the street in Islington tonight. He was doing some fantastic slide guitar using a hip flask as a slide.
I focussed on the eyes 85mm @ f/2 and then used a layer mask in Elements to desat the background.

Brown Argus Butterfly (Aricia agestis)
These are common in England, but I took this shot in France.
The Canon 135L has quite a close minimum focussing distance so makes a good butterfly lens.

Caterham panning shot - Jeremy Webb, Rockingham, 7th October 2012
Went to Rockingham Speedway today and watched a load of Caterham races and a couple of VW Golf ones too.
This was taken on the Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 L IS USM mounted on a 7D. I dropped the shutter speed to 1/80 second and panned as smoothly as I could to keep the car sharp but blur the background. (A few years ago I went to a track day and used a fast shutter speed - all the cars looked parked!)
I set the stabiliser to mode 2 which means it will offer stabilisation in one direction, but won't interfere with the panning.
I had more 'keepers' when I upped the shutter speed to 1/125, but I like the amount of blur I got at 1/80.

Mother and Father in Law
I was really pleased with this portrait of my parents-in-law taken in France earlier in the year. I used the superb 85L on my 7D with a dash of fill flash .
