There was strong contrast in this scene so I blended three exposures 1-stop apart in Photomatix. This produced a very striking colour image, but I preferred the gentler tones in this Efex conversion.

This was a series of three shots at 1 stop gaps blended in Photomatix. Each was taken with a Lee 10-stop filter to smooth the surface of the water.

Maternity shoot

Spent the early afternoon today photographing a lovely couple expecting their first child!

This first shot was taken at the end of a set where I had lit from the front with a 70cm silver beauty dish and side lit with gridded strip boxes. To give a more introspective feel I switched off the strips and raised the beauty dish and pointed it downwards.

Toned in Silver Efex.

In this this second shot I used strip box from the left - this lifts the hair from the background and rim-lights body. Added glamour glow and a little overall softening in Color Efex.

Processed in Analog Efex 2 to give a film-like feel. I added a 'light leak' which gives a gentle feeling of haze without killing the contrast.

Why the long face?

Wide open  on the 23mm f.1.4 - focus is on the eye. This is a super-sharp lens!
